Kannampully Sree Maha Kameshwara Temple

From time immemorial, India has been a spiritually enlightened land by Mystics, Yogis and Temples of Worship. Every Temple in India has its own Tantric rituals,
Kannampully is a worship centre of knowledge and self realization which has its own glory and feeling of vibrative silence because of the divinity enshrined in the Sanctum-sanctorum of the Temple and the exquisite self accumulative power of the deity in it. The rituals of Kannanpully temple is unique, because it is based on Nature-conciousness. Nature is the mother of all living beings and other manifestations. The union of mother nature and the universe is Divinity. Attainment of Divinity without a complete counsciousness of Nature is futile.
Nature is the mother of Arts. Spiritually enlightened rishis of ancient India explored Natyaveda and used those arts to attain divine blessings.
The strict adherence to this tantric system of worship with the accompaniment of Dance and Music is accelerating the transmission of bliss at Kannampully Temple.

The Divine Abode of Self Realization

Sree Maha Kameshwara Temple, the renowned abode of Kameshwara Moorthy is situated in Erimayur, Alathur, in Palakakad district of Kerala state. This north-facing temple enshrines the biggest Shiva Linga in Kerala. The lord Shiva here is reverently called. “Kannampully Thampuran”. Beside the Shiva Lingam on the right side is seated Goddess Annapoorneshwari with four arms. The uniqueness of this temple lies in the fact that the sanctum-sanctorum is an eight-petalled, double –door shrine(Ashtadhala, Chakra Shreekovil) which is only one of its kind.

The Thampuran remains here in his famous incarnation –as Poorna Prasanna Kirathamoorthy (meaning-the completely contended Lord) with his wife-the embodiment of beauty-Kameswary, blessing his devotees with wish fulfilled and protection. The calm ambiance of the temple resonating with the divine silent rhythms of the Lord’s majestic existence which transcends from that of a happy house-holder to the all absorbing power on a daily basis.
This temple is the virtual abode of providence for every living being irrespective of religion, caste or creed. This Holy shrine is open to one and all suffering from mental and Physical ailments, who have not got remedies or care from other sources. The devotees will be bestowed with relief and solace by the wonderful divine blessings of “Sree Thampuran”.

The temple opens every day for morning and evening Puja. The most important Pooja is the “Ravivara Madhyahna Puja. “Sunday – Midday Puja”. This Puja start at 12 noon. After this magnificent puja, the devotees who are present and participated in the prayers will get proper and effective advice to mitigate their problems and sorrows. These divine words of Thampuran through the chief Priest are called, “Prashna Parihara Nirdhesha Vachanum”. (Advice on Proper /Effective solution to various problems).
Natyam is Lord Himself. Allof the creation dancing with his cosmic dance is the secret of motion. Motion creates Emotion.
